CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Terrifying Burglary at Frum Flatbush Home While Family Slept Upstairs

CBS2 obtained terrifying surveillance video of a suspect rummaging through a Frum family’s Flatbush home, all while the family slept upstairs.

Sheila Zonenshein knew something was wrong when she noticed things missing from her home last Friday morning. Her worst fears were confirmed when she checked her home security footage.

“The driveway has motion sensored lights, and it picked up activity, and that’s when we saw he had broken in to the house,” she tells CBS2.

Security footage clearly captured a man walking up to the back door, playing with the door handle, and going inside. Zonenshein says it was likely unlocked.

“We hope not, but with six people in the house and four kids, it’s hard to keep track sometimes,” she said.

The suspect took full advantage of the easy entry, and spent several minutes inside the home grabbing a pocketbook, jewelry, and electronics.

  1. That is why every home needs a dog and 12 gauge shotgun. In most cases house dog will alert home owners while a shotgun will ‘neutralize’ the bad guy.

  2. It’s no where near terrifying
They were no none the wiser till after the fact
Violated, upset, pained at the loss, yes but not terrifying.

  3. According to Halacha you may immediately and automatically kill anyone who breaks into your home. The law in Texas and many other states is the same.

  4. It is the responsibility of the parents to make sure that all doors and windows are locked before going to sleep.

This family is very lucky that this ganof only took their belongings and not their lives.

  5. That’s why a Yiddishe home should have a family member sitting downstairs learning Torah HaKedoshah 24/7.
… and we wonder why terrible things happen R”L to our brothers and sisters!

  6. joseph sorry to tell you that you have your facts wrong, you are only alowed to kill someone when they break in,only when it is as clear as day that if you confronted him he would have killed you

Richard , are you up for hire?
Smartphones and computers are off limits, even with a filter.
We can do a yossochor/ zvulun partnership. But if i get broken into while your there, your responsible for every penny. After all, im hiring you as an insurance policy.

  8. litke7367 Not true actually. According to Halacha Joseph is correct. The Torah classifies someone breaking in as a type of person who is willing to kill if confronted.
