Obama Seeks to Retract Jerusalem Comments

obama.jpgUS Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barak Obama is now working to backtrack regarding his expressed support for an Israeli undivided Jerusalem.

Addressing an AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) event, Obama stated he will not permit Iran to go nuclear, adding that Jerusalem will remain the undivided capital of Israel, a remark that angered PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) and others seeking to establish Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian Authority.

Speaking on CNN, the presidential hopeful stated the address contained “poor phrasing” elaborating by explaining “we don’t want barbed wire running through Jerusalem similar to the way it was prior to the ’67 war, that it is possible for us to create a Jerusalem that is cohesive and coherent.”

The US Congress passed a law in 1995 describing Jerusalem as capital of Israel and saying it should not be divided, but successive presidents have used their foreign policy powers to maintain the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.

  1. In my opinion, any position from any politician about Israel is nonsense. America’s manipulative agenda with Israel runs much deeper than the Presidents that come and go. Further, both candidates are blatantly dishonest in their stance on Israel by holding to their inherently paradoxical statement that: Israel is a sovereign nation with defensible borders. YET, when the time is right we will work towards a Palestinian state WITHIN the state of Israel, and a divided Jerusalem, heaven forbid.

  2. This was reported on in Newsmax a couple of months ago. What I haven’t seen in a while is Obama campaigning in front of Jewish groups. I believe he doesn’t feel he needs the Jewish vote. He has the black and Muslim vote. Hashem Yerachem!

  3. That Obama backtracked is not in the least surprising. The fact that he is doing so even before the general election speaks volumes about the sort of disasterous policies he would have towards Israel

  4. We as jews should be carefull what we say about him. If we say negative about him all day and by mistake he does become president he wont be to fond of us. And lets not forget that ”Eisav soneh es yaakov”

  5. he has a good (moslem) rebbe — yassir arafat

he says one thing in english, another thing in arabic (he learned the koran in arabic while learning in his midrassa in malaysia when his white mother was living with another moslem there.)
