Turkish PM Calls Israel ‘Biggest Threat to Mideast Peace’

Turkey does not appear to be making an effort to mend fences regarding diplomatic relations with Israel. The secular Muslim nation was until recently a staunch ally, but since Operation Cast Lead, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has opted to wave his Islamic colors and side with Israel’s foes, labeling Israel a “murderer of innocent Palestinian children”.

In his latest anti-Israel statement, while visiting Paris, Erdogan stated that Israel is the “biggest threat to Mideast peace”, continuing to call on Arab nations and the United Nations Security Council to take action against Israel pertaining to IDF operations during Cast Lead.
