VIDEO: MK Feiglin, Minister Aharonovich and the Har Habayis Bluff

MK (Likud) Yariv Levin asked that Minister of Internal Security (Yisrael Beitenu) respond to the recent events in which MK (Likud) Moshe Feiglin and many others have been banned from visiting Har Habayis. He wishes to understand if a new policy is in place. Levin adds that blocking MKs is a serious issue for they have immunity that is supposed to permit them to travel without restrictions.

Aharonovich explains that generally speaking, Har Habayis remains open and Jews are visiting daily as is known to all. The final determination regarding the situation is in the hands of the Jerusalem Police Commander, who has the option to act to prevent violence based on an evaluation of the situation.

Feiglin interrupts with shouts asking “May I go and visit tomorrow perhaps, or next month?”

The minister declines to respond to Feiglin directly.

Feiglin then stands up and asks the minister rhetorically why he continues to dupe the public when it is clear the reason he and others are banned hasn’t anything to do with security but more accurately, Har Habayis is controlled by Jordan and the Jordanian Waqf Authority and they do not wish to see him and the other Jews on Har Habayis. Feiglin emphasizes it is a political and not security decision, Israel’s fear of the Waqf.

When he asks when he will be able to visit, the minister, who is interrupted constantly, basically says that there are instructions pertaining to Feiglin and his visiting Har Habayis will be in line with these rulings, ultimately placing the final word in the hands of the Jerusalem police district commander.

  1. How dare Mr. Feiglin visit the Har HaBayis and encourage other Jews to do the same! The Gedolei Yisrael of this and previous generations have declared it a Safek Issur Kareis (Rachmana Litzlan), because of uncertainty regarding the Makom HaMikdash and that (in the absence of a Parah Adumah) we are Safek Tmei’ei Meis.

  2. Avraham, you should learn a bit of history. Jews have been going to the Har Habayis for thousands of years.

  3. I addressed #2, but comment removed. Not going to rewrite everything, but you should learn the Halachot before accusing Feiglin and other Dati Jews who know the halachot of doing wrong in thise case. Go search for the sources (such as Rambam and others) who talk about this and when majority are Tmei (as is today).
