Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared Friday that he and President Donald Trump are in complete agreement that Iran must never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, reaffirming his longstanding commitment to preventing the Islamic Republic from becoming a nuclear power.
The statement comes amid reports of ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran aimed at reaching a temporary agreement that could pave the way for broader negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
“As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel – Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu declared.
The prime minister emphasized that he and President Trump remain fully aligned on the issue.
“President Trump and I are in full agreement on this issue,” Netanyahu said.
Highlighting his decades-long campaign against Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Netanyahu added, “For over 30 years, I have been at the forefront of the international struggle against Iran’s nuclear program.”
He argued that those efforts have already prevented Tehran from acquiring atomic weapons.
“Were it not for this struggle, Iran would have long ago possessed atomic bombs to destroy Israel,” he said.
Netanyahu concluded by reaffirming what he described as his life’s mission.
“Iran is working to destroy the Jewish state, and I am dedicating my life to preventing them from doing so.”
“As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, this will not happen.”
