Chabad Shaliach in Hungary Targeted in Yomtov Anti-Semitic Incident

As Jews throughout the Diaspora on Tuesday night sat around tables engaged in the second Pesach seder, a Chabad shaliach in Budapest, Hungary was targeted in an anti-Semitic incident.

HaRav Shmuel Riskin was running the second seder when a large rock came piercing through a window. Also present at the seder was Eren Elber, from the Jewish Agency for Israel Eastern European Desk. Needless to say, there were also other guests at the Chabad seder.

The large rock smashed a window in the rav’s home, coming into the room from behind the rav. A call was made to police, for some of the guests felt this was a matter of pikuach nefesh. Police were dispatched and stationed outside the rav’s home.

According to a Kikar report, police were not too concerned, indicating there was no chance of finding the attackers, not making any genuine effort to investigate.

  1. How come ALL responsible news agencies that carried this story did not include Mr. Spira’s opinion in the last sentence. If fact, they all said that the police were investigating the incident vigorously.

  2. #2 How about naming a few of the best and most unbiased of these “responsible” agencies, you are claiming, to have reported that the police were vigorously investigating?
