Hikind Praises Sears For Removing Anti-Israel Products

“SEARS didn’t hide behind ‘freedom of speech’— they just did the right thing.”

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D, Brooklyn) had high praise for SEARS Holding Corp. for removing offensive shirts that denied the existence of the State of Israel. A variety of “Free Palestine” items had been made available at Sears online via third-party merchant Spreadshirt, Inc.

“What refreshing news!” proclaimed Hikind. “Others and myself brought this issue to SEARS’ attention and they acted responsibly and did the right thing. Retailers should not be involved in selling products that are divisive and hurtful and SEARS recognized that and took action. They didn’t hide behind ‘freedom of speech’—they just did the right thing. Everyone can learn from their courageous handling of this issue. G-d bless them.”

  1. Or every Jewish seller on Amazon should contact Amazon and notify that they will stop selling with them, even if only temporarily. Some companies only understand the $ sign.

  2. You can also FLOOD their chat line, flood them with e-mails, jam their phone lines with calls. It works. I’m in middle of a chat session right now.

  3. Merchandise such as these pictured are all over the web. But we need to go after the aforementioned “big sellers”, Amazon and Walmart. Just this morning I saw that Amazon is the seller (Prime eligible) for a company called Amytees that is selling these shirts. I haven’t figured out how to contact the seller yet, but people are leaving reviews on the various items. If someone comes up with executives emails or phone numbers, they should post them here. Sears got hundreds of calls on Monday, and that was certainly influential in encouraging them to pay more attention to 3rd party seller’s merchandise.
