Did anyone check the tow pound?

  2. Halevai says:

You usually can’t report a car stolen until PD checks the plates for an authorized tow or repo.

  3. REALIST says:

Not a very simple job to steal this car.
Was the key left in the vehicle?

  4. tuna bigel says:

I don’t think you can tow a car with EMT/EMTP/VAS PLATES

  5. joetheplumber says:

i spoke to the owner of the vehicle today in shul and he told me he has both sets of keys and the car was towed from inside his driveway

    4. I have news for you. EMT/P and VAS cars can and are towed. Even a Hatzolah ambulance was once towed in Manhattan and it wasn’t blockig an intersection or traffic.

Either way, this is bad news for Hatzolah too since the ALS equipment typically carried by medics can sometimes cost as much as the car.

Was the car legitimately towed or stolen? I’m confused.
If there is a lease/loan in default they can reposess it even with VAS/EMT plates.

  8. Concerned Member says:

Unfortunately, while emergency vehicles are not supposed to be towed the horribly uneducated members of NYPD Traffic have been known to do it. Their excuse is inevitably “I thought the permit was fake” even though they’ve been told otherwise time and again.

if the car is seen should not 911 be called not only hatzolah and maybe shomreim

  10. avithedemon2 says:

call 911 if seen not just hatzolah
