MK (Yahadut HaTorah) Rav Moshe Gafne told members of the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee on Monday, 4 Adar 5772 that outgoing High Court of Justice President Dorit Beinish declared the Tal Law illegal “in her election campaign and during prime time”.
What the veteran legislator was saying is that Beinish’s timing was anything but coincidental, timed to have the maximum impact in the hope of using the court ruling to jumpstart her entry into the political arena.
Following Beinish’s decision last week, Gafne was among the first to respond, the court’s ruling changes nothing and the avreichim learning torah will continue doing just that.
