WATCH: NYPD Releases New Footage Of Suspect In Torching Of Crown Heights ‘Mitzvah Bus’

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the following individual in connection to an arson within the confines of 71st Precinct. Details are as follows:

On Monday, June 26, 2017 at approximately 12 midnight, the individual approached a school bus with Jewish symbols and lit it on fire causing damage.

The converted yellow mini-bus has designs including a Torah and menorah, and is commonly referred to in Crown Heights as the ‘Mitzvah Bus.’ It was recently featured in the popular music video of Benny Friedman’s hit song “Ivri Anochi.”

The individual then fled on foot on Troy Avenue towards East New York Avenue. The person of interest is described as follows:

Male, black, last seen wearing a white short sleeve t-shirt with writing on the front, black pants, a black baseball hat (worn backwards).
