IDF Thwarts Possible Attempted Terror Attack at N’vei Tzuf in Shomron


Magen David Adom and IDF sources reported an attempted vehicular terror attack this morning at N’vei Tzuf, in the Binyamin Regional Council area of the Shomron.

Soldiers opened fire on a vehicle suspiciously approaching their own at a high rate of speed. Four shots were fired.

The driver, a 26-year-old Palestinian male, was critically wounded. He later died from his wounds at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. His passenger, a 33-year-old female, was moderately wounded. She was later identified as the driver’s sister.

B’chasdei Hashem there are no injuries among the intended victims.

The IDF said it was investigating the incident to determine if the Palestinians were attempting to ram their car into the soldiers or if it was a misunderstanding.

“The soldiers perceived the vehicle as a threat and consequently fired toward it in order to stop it,” the army statement said.

The incident took place at the entrance to Neve Tzuf (Halamish), the scene of a horrific terror attack this July in which three Israelis were stabbed to death at their Shabbos table by an Arab terrorist.
