Vehicular Terrorist Car Attack in Yerushalayim [UPDATED 10:36 AM IL]

10:36: FINAL UPDATE: Zaka Chief Yehuda Meshi Zahav reports that the terrorist ran over the border policewomen near the base on Route 1. A security agent from the nearby Jerusalem light rail stop realized what was taking place and ran after the vehicle and began firing at the terrorist.

The terrorist then got out and tried attacking with a large knife or axe. He was shot and seriously wounded.

It appears most of the wounded are border policewomen but there may be a civilian or two among the wounded as well.

10:21: Jerusalem Magen David Adom Chief Shlomo Petrover reports three victims were evacuated from the scene in light condition and three others in moderate condition. They were transported to Hadassah Mount Scopus and Shaare Zedek Hospital.

The terrorist was also treated and evacuated from the scene.

10:17: Channel 2 News correspondent Moshe Nussbaum quoting the Jerusalem police chief, reports all of the wounded are border policewomen, all listed in light and light-to-moderate condition. He confirms the terrorist has been neutralized and was wounded by gunfire.

After striking the border police personnel the terrorist continued northbound towards the Israel Police Headquarters and shots were directed at his vehicle. At some point he got out of the vehicle and was going after people with a “very large butcher’s knife”, which Nussbaum adds is new, apparently purchased for this attack.

The attack occurred in close proximity to a major border police base.

10:11: This attack occurred near a light rail station as has been the case in the past.

10:08: It is now reported that five people have been wounded in the vehicular terror attack including three border policewomen.

It appears a bystander pulled his weapon and fired at the terrorist, thereby neutralizing him and ending the attack. The terrorist is reported in serious condition.

10:01: A terrorist rammed his vehicle into border policewomen near Kever Shimon HaTzaddik Junction in Jerusalem a short time ago, Purim Morning in Yerushalayim, Friday 15 Adar.

According to preliminary information from the scene, at least three policewomen are injured.

Someone fired at the terrorist, injuring him seriously. Additional details to follow.
