Hanegbi Meets with Arab Foreign Ministers in Secret

hanegDeputy Foreign Minister Tzachi Hanegbi, one of the people who is very close to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, last week held secret talks with foreign ministers of Arab nations, including nations that do not maintain diplomatic ties with Israel.

The meetings were held in Barcelona where Hanegbi was attending a European Union summit that was also attended by Jordan and Egypt. However, a number of Arab nations that do not maintain diplomatic ties were Israel were in attendance too, including Lebanon, Algeria, and Tunisia.

Hanegbi explained in response to the report that there is a change in the region, even a willingness by some states to establish some type of relations, something that did not exist in the past.

    They’re not going to have any relations with Israel as it will gain them nothing and cause them dishonor and hatred within the Arab world. But there may be unofficial cooperation on mutual military objections.
