The mispallalim of Beit Knesset Ayelet HaShachar in Givat Ze’ev on Sunday evening 24 Menachem Av cleared the shul of its contents after maariv. Following shachris on Monday morning they marched the Sifrei Torah to the community’s Beit Chabad, where they will be stored temporarily.

Dozens of residents and mispallalim were on hand Sunday evening to hear words of chizuk after which they davened and bundled up the contents of the shul and removed them.

The difficult situation B”H led to achdus as members of the chareidi and dati leumi communities, Ashkenazim and Sephardim, all sat side-by-side, unified by the pain of the thought the shul is going to be razed in compliance with a High Court demolition order.

Not leaving the process in the hands of residents, there was a sizable police and border police force on hand to make sure the shul will be emptied and sealed off to all as per the agreement reached with government officials.

  1. Thankfully a shtikkel agreement was reached but this is a very sad story! The property was purchased some 20 years ago from an Arab but the Lapid lefties seemed to find another arab to claim it was his and yhis whole brouhaha ensued to the point that thd shul would have been destroyed this morning רח”ל. Meanwhile there is a six month reprieve to allow for the two parties to reach an agreement. But the בית ה can’t be used as per the agreement. SICK STORY

  2. Is there anything off limits for the Jewish Government of Israel? Could you imagine a Jew proving unequivocally that a property in East Jerusalem was stolen from him, it wouldn’t be returned to him. At the most, the Jewish Government would give him some shekels and send him on his way.
Could you imagine if there was a Mosque on the property?
    Self-hating losers.
