Burglary Arrest In Kiryas Joel


kOn Saturday, August 8, 2015 the New York State Police in Monroe arrested Bergin Perez, age 23, of Monroe, NY for Burglary in the Second Degree.

Perez, who lives on Bakertown Road in the Village of Kiryas Joel, after a night of drinking at a bar in Newburgh, entered numerous residences in Kiryas Joel on Getzel Berger Blvd and Israel Zupnich Drive and in several instances accosted residents who were sleeping. The incidents all occurred around 5:30 AM on Saturday morning. He was additionally charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing for allegedly trying to choke a woman who had woken up while he was in her residence.

Perez was arraigned in the Town of Monroe Court and remanded to Orange County Jail on $25,000.00 bail.
