Tens of Apartments Evacuated in Bnei Brak Due to Gas Leak


isfdTens of residents on Yona Street in Bnei Brak were instructed to evacuate their homes during the early evening hours of Wednesday 18 Elul due to a serious gas leak in the area. The leak was in a nearby public building.

City Manager Avraham Tannenbaum reported receiving many calls from concerned residents reporting a strong odor in the area. The fire department and other agencies responded. They learned that workers involved in renovations in the public building struck a gas line. The fire department ordered the evacuation of tenants in the immediate area of the leak, which was quite significant.
