Avreich Seriously Wounded in Another Jerusalem Stabbing Attack [UPDATED 1:43 PM IL]

12:15: Preliminary reports from Derech Bar Lev of a stabbing attack. It appears one person has been injured as a terrorist tried to grab a soldier’s weapon in proximity of National Police Headquarters. More to follow.

12:21: At least one person has been wounded, stabbed in the neck, reportedly in serious condition. The terrorist has been neutralized, possibly by the light rail guards. The attack occurred at the light rail station near National Police Headquarters.

12:26: The terrorist appears to be an Arab juvenile about 15-year-old. He is in custody. The victim is about 20, a talmid yeshiva who was stabbed in his neck. His injuries appear moderate-to-serious. The knife remains in his neck while being treated on the scene.

12:30: Baruch Hashem the victim remains conscious at this time as he is being prepared for transport by EMS EMTs and paramedics.

12:31: Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat is on the scene of the latest attack.

12:32: There is at least one other victim with light injuries and a number of people being treated for hysteria. The attacker appears to have tried to grab a weapon from one of the light rail security guards.

12:41: MDA reports EMT-3 Gadi Miller was first on the scene. He explains the attack occurred on the road near the bus stop. A male about 25 was stabbed in his upper body. Working with paramedics they immediately began stabilizing his condition. He was listed in serious condition at the time of transport.

A second victim was treated on the scene too, listed in light condition. The second victim appears to be a light rail security guard who was injured restraining the attacker.

13:00: The victim was transported to the trauma unit of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Light rail service between Ammunition Hill and the Central Bus Station is halted indefinitely as a result of the attack.

13:16: The name of the seriously wounded talmid yeshiva is Aaron Moshe Chaim ben Chana for a refuah shleima bsoch kol cholei am yisrael.      אהרן משה חיים בן חנה לרפו”ש.

13:20: Officials issue clarification- Light rail service INTERRUPTION only between Shar Shechem (Damascus Gate) & Ammunition Hill.

13:26: Derech Bar Lev, the area of the Jerusalem stabbing attack, has reopened to vehicles in both directions.

13:43: The person  seriously wounded in the attack is an avreich from Europe.

14:19: The terrorist in custody for the attack is identified as 19-year-old Mahmud Abu Halifa, a resident of the Shuafat refugee camp who does not have a record of involvement in terror.

    These pictures cannot possibly be from today or any day in recent years as to the best of my recollection Bus # 5 DOES NOT go to Har Nof!!!!!!

  2. These are current pictures. When the bus ends it’s route, it often takes away one of the numbers, and bus 15 is a bus to Har Nof. Notice that the bus is empty, and this is the last stop for many busses.
    How is the avreich now?

  3. # 4 – Bus 15 hasnt gone to Har Nof in a good few years.

    # 2 – Bus 5 goes to Ramat Beit HaKerem in that direction (not Har Nof).

    # 3 – There you may be right as Bus 52 DOES go to Har Nof.
