Tragedy: Bnei Brak Infant Chokes to Death on a Marble


mIchud Hatzalah reports that a call was received for an 8-month-old choking at 58 Yehuda HaNasi Street in Bnei Brak. Ichud’s EMT Ze’ev Teffer reports the child was unconscious due to the obstructed airway. The child was playing with marbles prior to the choking incident.

MDA reports the call was received at 16:52 on Tuesday, 5 Kislev. Paramedics were able to clear the obstruction, removing a marble from the child’s airway. The child was transported to Tel Hashomer Hospital while CPR was performed along with advanced life support measures, in critical condition.

Official reports from Tel Hashomer early in the evening state that unfortunately, the baby was pronounced dead in the hospital despite heroic life-saving efforts by EMS personnel in the field.

Zaka reported it was responding to the hospital to address kovod hamess.
