A delegation of 55 Magen David Adom volunteers and employees participated in a five-day visit to the death camps in Poland. The members of the groups heard the stories of horror from survivors.

MDA has been sending a group annually towards perpetuating the memory of the Holocaust. The most recent group visited the extermination camp of Krakow, Auschwitz – Birkenau, Katowice, Plaszow, Kielce, Majdanek and Warsaw. In addition, the delegation conducted visits to other historic places in Poland, including the Rappaport monument, Broken Heart monument, , Tykocin Great Synagogue and the Nozik Great Synagogue and more.

Participants in the group feel it is particularly powerful to visit the death camps in MDA uniforms, representing Israel’s humanitarian EMS service. A special ceremony was held adjacent to bloc 10 in Auschwitz where the infamous experiments were conducted.
