There was much simcha in Ponevezh on motzei Shabbos following the announcement that the President of the yeshiva, HaRav Eliezer Kahaneman became a Chosson. The kallah is Mrs. Chana Sternshaus, 70, from a Gerrer Chassidic family. She is employed as a secretary in an old age facility affiliated with Yeshivas Ponevezh.
Rav Kahaneman, 71, was widowed from his wife Rebitzen Elisheva A”H in Iyar 5775. They had 14 children together.
Kikar Shabbos News reports that the Gerrer Rebbe, who is a friend of the Kahaneman family, pushed the shidduch.
The previous Gerrer Rebbe the Lev Simcha ZT”L was a business partner with HaGaon HaRav Avraham Kahaneman ZT”L, the father of Rav Eliezer Kahaneman and the friendship between the families continued since.

Mazel tov! But, what’s this with “a business partner”? Sounds pas nisht that leaders of giant communal institutions should have private business dealings, unless we’re missing something.
