Yisrael Beitenu Continues To Promote And Encourage Chillul Shabbos

The Yisrael Beitenu coalition party headed by Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman is leading the battle against the new Shabbos Law, determined to continue the fight to permit businesses to open on Shabbos if they chose too. The coalition party did not vote for the bill, and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman traveled to Ashdod on a Shabbos “to give chizuk to stores being Mechalel Shabbos” R”L.

This coming Shabbos, Absorption Minister Sofa Landver is planning to follow the example of her party’s leader and she is going to visit the Big Shopping Center in Ashdod to encourage businesses that are operating to continue to do so, without fear of the law.

Despite being cabinet ministers, Lieberman and Landver in this case are ignoring the law, for they feel it is nothing more than ‘religious coercion’.

Members of the Yisrael Beitenu party in the Ashdod local government will be accompanying Landver on Shabbos.

Landver told the media that “The issuing if fines in Ashdod on Shabbos is scandalous. This is religious coercion and an attempt to change the status quo in the city. We must resist, and I invite the public to join us.”

  1. If I wanted to be forced to work seven days a week on a “flexible schedule”, I may as well stay in America. Why are these people so energized on what can be easily seen as an anti-worker policy of not giving them any time off?
