Report: Admorim Of The Moetzes Changed Their Position After Receiving Note From Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky

On Tuesday, two weeks of political upheaval in Israel and threats of early elections came to an end, with the new IDF Draft Law passing in the Knesset and paving the way for a vote on the 2019 budget.

Kav Itona’ut reports that at some point, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita sent a clear message to the Admorim Shlita who form the Moetzas Gedolei Torah of Agudas Yisrael, a message that arrived at a time that it appeared negotiations might be getting out of hand and Prime Minister Netanyahu’s governing coalition was in danger.

The note cited the importance of the responsibility for the fate of the Yeshivos and the Talmidim, and stated that “this is not the time to overthrow the government”.

This letter reportedly is what compelled the Council to soften its position, leading to the agreement that saved the coalition from falling and thereby avoiding early elections.

May Hashem give this Tzadik, and all Tzadikim around the world good health and Arichas Yumin. We need them.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. HaRav Chaim 1 : Gerrer Rebbe 0 – hard to believe that the Chassidish Moetzes favored HaRav Chaim over the Gerrer Rebbe.
