The fire of a heavy machinegun on a tank over the weekend could have resulted in serious injuries or worse but Baruch Hashem, this was not the case.
Several bullets from the tank’s heavy machinegun were unintentionally fired at a jeep nearby, which was taking part in the Golan Heights training event. Seated in the jeep was a battalion commander. A window of the vehicle was blown out from the automatic gunfire, but there were no injuries.
The IDF Spokesman’s Office confirms the report and adds an investigation is underway.
