A 10-month-old infant from the Western Galil area is reported in serious condition following four days in Nahariya Hospital. The infant’s parents noticed a wound on his leg and took him to a local medical clinic where he was treated.
After a number of days, his leg became swollen, compelling the parents to bring him to Nahariya Hospital. Tests revealed the infant was infected with a powerful systemic infection and he remains in an intensive care unit.
The child has undergone surgical procedures to treat and debried the infected muscle tissue as well as “aggressive” intravenous antibiotic therapy.
