Pomona: Skateboarder Struck By Vehicle

solOn August 29, 2013 at approximately 2:55 pm, Ramapo Police responded to a car/pedestrian accident in front of the Mount Ivy Diner on Route 202, in Pomona NY.

The investigation revealed that a 16 year old Pomona male, on a skateboard, had passed through the steady ready light, westbound on Route 202. A 78 year old female, of Stony Point NY was operating a 2006 Buick southbound from Quaker Rd., entering the parking lot of the diner, when contact was made with the skateboarder.

The skateboarder sustained minor injuries. He was treated at the scene by Spring Hill Ambulance Corp and Rockland Paramedics. One of the male’s parents responded to the scene and they declined transport to a hospital. The 78 year old female was not injured.
