ESCALATION: ‘Peleg Yerushalmi’ Protestors Plan To Block Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway On Thursday

The Peleg protestors, who have hit the streets in various cities around Israel during the course of the week, plan to block the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway in Thursdays protests – all under the direct auspicious of Hagaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita.

According to pashkavilim, protests will resume on Thursday 25 Adar after hundreds protested outside IDF Prison 6 on Wednesday, where Tzvi Friedman from Beit Shemesh is jailed.

The partys HaPeles newspaper reports that on Thursday, Highway 1 is being targeted and they are advising drivers to use Highway 443, the Jerusalem-Modiin Highway as an alternate.

Two protest sites are being advertised in the capital for Thursday, beginning at 6:00PM, Sarei Yisrael at the corner of Yaffo Street (Shar Hair) and the intersection of Bar Ilan and Shmuel HaNavi Streets. The Eida Chareidis will be participating according to the newspaper.

  3. To be accurate – it doesn’t say to protest on highway 1 – all it says is that highway 443 won’t have protests.
In addition it doesn’t mention anything about eidah chareidis.
    Be accurate.

  4. To be accurate – it isn’t under the direct auspicious of Hagaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita – as he has ublicly stated that he isn’t affiliated with the paper.

  5. Several states in the U.S. have adopted, or are considering a vehicular form of “stand your ground” legislation that would provide auto and truck drivers with a rebuttable presumption of innocence in the event of a physical encounter with a pedestrian who deliberately and recklessly inserted him/herself into a public thoroughfare. This type of legislation was introduced in response to the disruptive demonstrations by the so called “Black Lives Matter” protestors and was praised by many here on YWN. I presume the same posters would heartily endorse the same legislation in EY targeting R’ Auerbach and his PY followers who deliberately block traffic on major streets and highways.

  6. What I want to know is who pays for a missed flight due to these protests…. I would make those bachurim pay.
