Meretz Party Chairman Comments On Vote To Shut Mitcham HaTachana On Shabbos

Meretz Chairwoman Dr. Laura Warton responded to the Jerusalem City Council vote to close the Mitcham HaTachana complex on Shabbos.

“This is a declaration of war on the status quo in the city. What happened to live and let live? If you want to destroy our lives, there will be no peace. As for Nir Barkat, a total failure, three members of his faction did not appear even for discussion, together with Chagit Moshe, his deputy. If they had appeared, we would have won. A sad day for the free public and the tolerant religious public. Existence is in danger. I suggest that everyone enlist in a political struggle and put an end to the false appeasement of intolerant public figures. There is no tolerance for the intolerant.”
