Many Israelis realized something out of the ordinary was taking place for fighter planes are not generally seen in the air on Shabbos. There were reports of �many planes� in the air but no number was given.
Lebanese media states Israeli fighter planes operated at a low altitude over a number of areas in S. Lebanon.
The IDF Spokesman�s Office reports the planes were scrambled due to a false alarm, apparently the result of a flock of birds passing the area.
