Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated that Syria appears to continue supplying Hizbullah with arms despite ongoing contacts with Israel. He made his remarks during a tour of the northern border earlier in the week.

The senior minister stated that intelligence reports show that Syria continues to supply the terror organization with long-range rockets, as well as an array of weapons and ammunition. Barak called the relationship between Damascus and Hizbullah �intimate�, adding senior defense officials hoped that at least while Israel and Syria are taking a first step towards normalized relations, Damascus would conduct itself differently.
