NYC Issues Snow Alert Ahead Of Incoming Flakes

nycsThe New York City Department of Sanitation has issued a snow alert ahead of yet another incoming snow storm.

A spokeswoman for the city agency says Saturday the alert is set for 1 p.m. Sunday.

That’s when the National Weather Service says light snow will begin to fall in the metropolitan area. Meteorologists say it’s expected to pick up Sunday evening and overnight into Monday. In total, they say about 1 to 2 inches of snow are expected to fall.

The Department of Sanitation says it’s loading salt spreaders, attaching plows and preparing tire chains in anticipation of the flakes.

Last week, a snow storm turned into frozen rain and slush, forcing airlines to cancel flights and causing messy commuting conditions.

  1. Department of Sanitation better start doing thier job & start picking up residential trash everywhere.
This new Mayor better stop shoveling his snow & get his crews to clean up out there. The streets are filthy!
