85-Year-Old Man Dies from Wounds Sustained in Iranian Missile Strike on Rechovot

An 85-year-old man who was wounded in last month’s Iranian missile strike on the central Israeli city of Rechovot has died of his injuries, bringing the Israeli death toll from the attack to 30, according to Hebrew-language media reports.

The man, whose name has not yet been publicly released, was rescued in moderate condition from the rubble of his home following the strike and was hospitalized at Kaplan Medical Center in Rechovot. His condition reportedly fluctuated over the past six weeks before deteriorating.

The deadly missile strike occurred during the height of the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, when Iranian forces launched a barrage of missiles across Israel. Rechovot was among the cities struck by long-range precision missiles that caused widespread damage to civilian neighborhoods.

The latest casualty comes just two weeks after the death of Leah Mosquera, a caregiver from the Philippines, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the same attack. Mosquera had been working in one of the damaged homes when the missile struck.

With today’s death, the total number of Israeli fatalities from Iranian missile fire during the brief but intense conflict now stands at 30.
