U.S. officials are weighing a plan that would allow Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro to enter exile in Qatar.

According to a senior administration source, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested the option of relocating Maduro to Qatar, which is involved in mediating the crisis.

Three current and two former Trump administration officials describe the exile proposal as “plausible.”
