U.S. CENTCOM has launched Task Force Scorpion Strike, the U.S. military’s first one-way attack drone squadron in the Middle East.

The task force has already deployed LUCAS long-range, autonomous attack drones with multiple launch methods.

CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper says the new unit strengthens deterrence by quickly providing advanced, affordable drone capabilities to U.S. forces.
