A Jewish merchant arrested earlier this month in Damascus has been released and fully cleared of all charges. Salem Hamdani, a longtime member of Syria’s Jewish community, was freed after about 20 days in detention, with authorities concluding the accusations against him were unfounded. A close associate confirmed he was treated respectfully during custody and praised the legal process that led to his release.
