The Jewish kehilla in Iran is operating with extreme caution as the largest protests against the regime in years continue to shake the country, Kol Chai reported.

International Jewish organizations that maintain contact with the community reported that as of this past Shabbos, basic communication lines remained open and no direct harm to Jews had been reported.

The situation remains “quiet but tense,” and the community is taking stringent measures to ensure its safety.

Some shuls—particularly in sensitive areas and near major intersections—remained closed over Shabbos to avoid gatherings that could draw unwanted attention. Many community members are minimizing outings to an absolute minimum, especially in the afternoons and evenings, and are taking caution not to remain in public spaces for extended periods out of concern for violent flare-ups or clashes with security forces.

However, it should be noted that due to Internet shutdowns and severe restrictions imposed by the regime, the full situation on the ground is unclear.
