The U.S. is weighing whether to ask Israel to redirect part of approximately $5 billion in Palestinian Authority tax revenues currently being withheld toward the Board of Peace, as part of President Trump’s proposed $70 billion postwar Gaza reconstruction initiative, according to a report in Reuters.
Under the proposal, some of the funds could go toward a U.S.-backed transitional administration in Gaza, while another portion could later be released to the Palestinian Authority if it implements reforms. The Trump administration has not yet decided whether to formally make the request to Israel.
