Class Action Alleges El Al Illegally Delays Refunds for Canceled Flights

A class action request filed in Tel Aviv alleges El Al refunds canceled flights in installments instead of full immediate payments.

• The lawsuit says El Al refunds customers using the same installment structure as the original purchase, despite Israeli law requiring refunds within 21 days.

• The case centers on an attorney who fully paid for her daughter’s Warsaw ticket before it was canceled, but says El Al still refunded the money in future installments.

• The filing claims passengers are denied immediate access to their money and effectively turned into a “source of financing” for the airline.
