The U.S. seized the sanctioned Iran-linked oil tanker Skywave in the Indian Ocean overnight, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

•⁠ ⁠Shipping data reportedly indicates the vessel was loaded with more than one million barrels of crude oil at Iran’s Kharg Island in February.

•⁠ ⁠The Skywave had been sanctioned earlier this year over its alleged role in transporting Iranian oil.

•⁠ ⁠The seizure marks at least the third U.S. operation targeting Iran-linked “shadow fleet” vessels as pressure on Tehran continues to intensify.
