Massive Fire At Largest Kosher Market In Golders Green; Police Say Non Suspicious [VIDEOS]

The fire at Kosher Kingdom.

About 100 firefighters and 15 firetrucks were called to fight a massive fire that broke out at Kosher Kingdom, the largest kosher supermarket in Golders Green, London.

The fire, which broke out shortly before 7:00 a.m on Wednesday, began at the back of the supermarket, which is located on the bottom of a three-story building with residential apartments located above the store.

British police quickly launched an investigation to determine whether it was negligence or deliberate arson amid a spate of antisemitic attacks in the community in recent months, including a stabbing attack only yards away from the supermarket, and an arson attack on Hatzalah ambulances.

In an update issued later on Wednesday, police confirmed the blaze is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police investigating the cause of the fire at a warehouse in Golders Green have confirmed it is not being treated as suspicious…. Following further enquiries alongside the LFB, the fire is not being treated as suspicious and is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.”

  1. Just in case it was an anti-semitic arson, it didn’t just affect the Jewish community, but also the general public, through the closure of the surrounding main traffic arteries. That’s besides the non-Jewish insurers who will have to foot the bill and the tax-payers paying for 100 fire fighters.
    Anti-semitism affects everyone!

  2. This investigation will probably take its time until a conclusion is made, as it is not the first fire at this supermarket.

The first fire there resulted in the owner (original owner??) being barred from being able to enter the premises, despite evidence that suggested it was not arson (I do not know this to be 100% true, but it is widely understood to be the case amongst those that remember the last fire there).

So whether this was arson by way of an anti-Semitic attack, a different kind, or some fault, the conclusion will probably take time in the backdrop of what previously occurred there, how sad…

  3. Apparently the police claims it was due to an electrical fault: “We would like to reassure residents that there is no indication of any targeted or deliberate act.” “The cause of the fire is thought to be electrical”

  4. unfortunately fires at Jewish commercial institutions are not rare. Rubens had THREE OVER THE LAST 3 DECADES.
