During the Sunday morning cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert promised a military response to the continued Hamas rocket attacks, stating Israel will not renew its policy of restraint as was the case before Operation Cast Lead. Olmert made a point of stating the Israeli response will be disproportionate.
Olmert told ministers that he has already instructed Defense Minister Ehud Barak to order IDF officers to prepare a stern response, stressing Israel is unwilling to return to the daily rocket attacks.
Kadima leader Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni stated Israel should not sign agreements with Hamas, but use force. Defense Minister Barak promised a response, but stated Israel will act with judgment.

Well it’s about time. Flatten the Gaza sea strip of all hirises.
Finally, strength from Israel’s government. Hopefully this will continue after the election.
#1 From Olmert’s promises to actually going ahead with his promises, can take another 10,000 rockets or 8 years.
Even if he will finally respond, it will be done with silk gloves as he has been proven to do until now in Gaza and Lebanon, and only for a short while until the UN and the Western World will allow him – even if he did not accomplish his goal.
But now that elections is in full swing and he and his party will, hope to Hashem, not be re-elected, he has nothing to lose with his habitual empty promises.
So there’s nothing to get excited about with such weak leaders.
