MK (Yahadut HaTorah) Moshe Gafne, who happens to head the Knesset Finance Committee, does not appear to be anxious to comply with a landmark decision of the High Court of Justice, to make retroactive payment to Israel�s Reform Movement for its conversion program as well as equal funding in the future, the same received by Orthodox institutions.

Gafne told the J. Post the Reform Movement is not �a legitimate branch of Judaism�, calling them �treacherous backstabbers� and vowing to block any attempt to release funds towards complying with the court ruling.

Gafne also accuses the nation�s highest court of �interfering� in matters that are the sole jurisdiction of legislators.
