Mekubal Rav Dov Kook has come out harshly against Tiveria Mayor Yossi Ben-David for having issued a demolition for the new work that was done to improve the kevarim of Amaroim Rabi Yochanan and Reish Lakish. The kevarim were renovated by a number of people who installed new marble but the mayor decided the work was unauthorized and has issued an order to remove it.

In the video Rav Kook cries from the bottom of his heart and warns “We are dealing with the kevarim of Rebi Yochanan and Reish Lakish in Tiveria. There is a demolition order. If this was a mosque or church nothing would be done. I am embarrassed to be in Tiveria. If the demolition is carried out I promise you in the name of Rebi Yochanan – the person who does it will be destroyed”.

“Whoever carries out a demolition order against Rebi Yochanan in Tiveria will indeed be destroyed. I want to run away from Eretz Yisrael. It is a disgrace to be in Tiveria. You insane murderers. How can it be? This shame – Hitler did not understand it. I am compelled to finish and go cry and run away from Tiveria at this moment”.
