Video & Photos: Hatzolah Group Visits Yeshiva Merkaz HaRav & Gives Much Needed Chizuk

Israel Trip 094.jpgAs YWN had reported, a group of Hatzoloh Paramedics and EMT’s from Flatbush, Queens, Washington Heights and Lakewood have traveled to Eretz Yisroel to offer Chizuk, support and encouragement to the residents of Sderot and to the country at large.

These veteran Hatzolah members are part of the larger “HEART Team”: Hatzoloh – Emergency – Ambulance – Response – Team; which has trained with and is ready to deploy to Israel in a time of war R”L if necessary on moments notice.

The group paid a visit to Yeshiva Merkaz HaRav on Thursday night – the day that the families of the eight Kedoshim HYD were getting up from Shiva. Eight pure Korbonos being mourned across the world……

The Roshei Yeshiva, and senior Rabbeyim, as well as dozens of students joined together with the Hatzoloh group to mourn and bring the yeshiva back to its-self at a gathering tonight in the Yeshiva.

Just one week ago, the world watched in horror as the yeshiva became ground zero for a horrific terrorist attack killing 8 and wounding others. Shock and disbelief, now joined with strength, hope, and unity. The message that was delivered tonight was that Klal Yisroel’s tragedy is being shared by Yidden across the world.

The inspiration and feeling of Achdus was palpable, as the Yeshiva and the group came together in the library of the Yeshiva.  Floors and walls marked with bullet holes, Seforim with bullet holes torn and ripped, and broken windows remain a fiery testament to the evil and bravery that transpired in this room.

Scenes and stories out of war torn Europe came to mind, as the unthinkable happened to these precious students while innocently studying their sacred texts, and murdered in cold blood ‘Al Kiddush Hashem’.

The room came to a hush as Tehillim and Acheinu was recited, followed by Divrei Chizuk delivered by the Hatzolah members – including one very moving speech by Flatbush Hatzolah member R’ Chaskel Bennett. Afterwards, the Talmidim and Hatzoloh members began to sing Acheinu, and hold each other as the feeling in the room went from sadness to one of hope.

The group also inaugurated a new Sefer Torah to be written Lzecher Nishmas the 8 Kedoshim.
Talmidim and Rabbeim expressed tremendous appreciation for the outpouring of love and Chizuk.

The parting words from the Rosh Yeshiva, was to take this message of Achdus back to the Klal at large, and remind all Jews that we are one nation – TOGETHER.

Yihei Zichro Boruch……

The group is scheduled to spend an inspiring Shabbos full of Chizuk in Sderot with the local residents.

  1. Was on the flight with these sweetest neshemos, they packed full cartons to bring with them to Sderot with goodies.

  2. wow! Thank you Hazolah for representing America’s solidarity with the victims and the yeshivah, as well as Sderot, and a particular thankyou to your wives who encouraged you to go on the trip, and are taking care of your families at home so you could embark on this mission…

  3. If you heard and listened to the moving words of R. Chaskel Bennett, and you agreed with what he said, let’s bring that attitude to this website. Unfortunately, the tone of many writers on this website is oftentimes nasty and demeaning. Even if we all don’t agree with one another, let us try to treat each other with the proper kavod that each one of us deserves. State how you feel about a certain issue but do it with a sense of “feinkeit”, with a sense of humility, with a sense of respect.
