Growing Concern Regarding Lapid’s Economic Outlook

lapidThere is a growing concern among many Israelis regarding the government’s proposed budget, which according to experts will place an additional 35,000 children under the poverty line.

According to experts in Bituach Leumi (National Insurance Institute), the sector least affected by the budget is the highest income earners, which will lose 1.4%. The lowest income sector will be the hardest hit, where there will be a 6.5% reduction, with the latter representing 45,000 families.

Bituach Leumi predicts a 4.8% increase in poverty to 29.6%, with the number of poor families increasing from 19.5% to 23.9%. The number of poor children will increase by 5.2% to 40.8%. These new realities will also highlight the increasing gap between various economic sectors of Israeli society.

  1. Benjamin Netanyahu should step down, affective immediately! His dereliction of duty should land him in prison! There is NO leadership in the State of Israel! The inmates are running the asylum!

  2. This is exactly the kind of austerity budget that hasn’t been working in Europe, and that the Republicans are pushing in America.

  3. #2. The Republican’s? The Democrats are spending you into oblivion. The congressional budget office says the dollar will collapse if drastic measures aren’t taken. You can’t keep spending money you don’t have. Most of the Money went to buy votes. The repercussions will harm the poor the most.

Europe spent themselves into oblivion. Their austerity moves were because of the outlandish spending and the Democrats are doing to the U.S.

Netanyahu new something had to be done, so he set up Lapid to be the fall guy. Shrewd move.
