Police Approve Mazel’s Shiloach Flag March

Israel Police have granted a permit for the right-wing flag march in the Shiloach area of the capital organized by Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben-Givir, but placed restrictions on the event. The number of participants is limited to 70, and no one may be armed during the march. The event is set to take place on Sunday, April 25th, beginning at the Givati parking lot outside the Old City gates to the center of the Shiloach area.

Police informed the organizers that the 700 meter (yards) march must not take more than one hour.

Organizers explain this is a “first step” in the battle towards equal law enforcement in the eastern capital, demanding that officials working tenaciously to destroy Beit Yehonatan exhibit an equal zeal to enforce the law regarding the 216 illegal Arab sector buildings in the same area.

Ben-Givir told the press that he and his colleagues plan to continue returning to the area as many times as necessary, until such times the powers that be enforce the law and destroy the illegal Arab homes in the capital.
