The “Ebonics” pshat was something I read in a newspaper several years ago, when the word & concept first came out.
Years ago, many of the counselors in a camp I worked at got themselves t-shirts proclaiming themselves to be “Camp Staff”.
I never did get around to having the t-shirt I wanted printed up – “Camp Staph”.June 17, 2009 6:31 pm at 6:31 pm #923432

A condition marked by the presence of lipids, or fats, in the cerebral region, so that the brain is submerged in said fats and fails to function properly. Causes include failure to exercise the brain through proper thinking for one’s self. It is usually not terminal and can be reversed in some instances, especially when it occurs in the form of epidemic cerebrolipidosis.
MRI scans have noted a very high prevalence of cerebrolipidosis among politicians, journalists and government bureaucrats. It is said that an epidemic of cerebrolipidosis is responsible for the election of Barack Obama in 2008, and such an epidemic was only seen prior to this during the 1976 election when it resulted in victory for Jimmy Carter. Similar such epidemics often occur during the televised broadcasts of major events such as sports tournaments and song contests.June 18, 2009 10:42 pm at 10:42 pm #923454

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (mah-MOOD ah-MAD-ee-ne-zhad):
1) A small, ugly creature which lives in Teheran, Iran and is noted for its aggressive and abusive threats, most of which have little substance.
2) A small, ugly creature which steals election results and threatens to build nuclear bombs and reactors from spent white pistachio shells, not even knowing that red ones are necessary for the red pushbuttons on the remote control.
3) The only known outside supporter of the Ku Klutz Kartel, a ragtag group of renegade extreme anti-Zionists, each of whom claim the title Rabbi due to their having purchased it for a total of 1000 Paskesz candy wrappers during an ill-conceived marketing promotion. Many ballots cast for Ahmadinejad are said to resemble these candy wrappers in color, size and authenticity.
4) The Official Farsi Translation for “Jimmy Carter”.June 19, 2009 4:22 pm at 4:22 pm #923460
“Cerebrolipidosis” – very good, but I wouldn’t have had any idea what you were talking about if not for reading an article about Lorenzo Odone in the Readers Digest a while back. (You don’t have to be a fathead to vote a certain way, but it helps:))
As far as Ahmadinejad(yms), we can only daven that his threats “have little substance”.June 19, 2009 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm #923461
🙂 a cholesterol test is called a blood lipids test or some such thing because it also tests for other detrimental fats. Hyperlipidosis (or is it hyperlipidemia?) = too much of any of those fats in the blood.
