i have been told that texting on shabbos stems from lack of feeling and connection to yiddishkeit. Teens have no feeling for shabbos or davening or anthing else for that matter and therefore dont see whats wrong with this behavior. you should feel a personal connection with hashem starting from when your young so that as a teen you will be strong in your belief and not surcumb to the temptation of the outside world.

Zahavasdad, I believe your mistanken. someone strugling with an ED can fully recover with the proper help. an alcoholic takes one drink and is back in the clutches, it is very different once someone recovers fully. I am fasting on fastdays for a couple of years already and have never regressed b’h.

it has been proven impossible to successfully recover from an eating disorder without professional intervention. As a side note,t he person must want to get better. If he/she lacks motivation no amount of time in an inpatient facility or the likes will do the job alone.

    Blabla,

as a young woman who suffered from an eating disorder a couple of years ago i want you to know that no matter what situation your ever in, your not alone. Firstly, Hashem is always with you. Ironically enough, when i was deep in the clutches of this MONSTER, and feelings of loneliness, despair, fear, and helplessnes etc totally overtook me, i felt closes to Hashem, for the simple reason, taht only he can give me the strength to overcome this difficult nisoiyon

i was what you call a size minus two, it was part of my genes to be extremely thin. when it came to shidduchim ppl jumped to conclusions as to why as am thin…anorexic etc. I dont understand, if this is what boys are looking for, or more like theyre parents are looking for, when you finaly found this “model figure” you conclude that she is anorexic. we are not going to mention this is real lashon hara, to undermine a girls chances in shidduchim by concluding that she must be anorexic if she is so thin. what has this world come to???
