I think that since this goy was not truly interested in being a gerr it was assur for Hillel to teach him torah. Therefore Hillel had to tell him “mai disony alach…” which is the foundation of his the 7 mitzvos. This is muttar to teach a goy.

I am still bothered about the mitzvos of arayos and ever min hachay which don’t apply under this rule.

It is also difficult to undestand that “Reachah=HBH” for a goy.

Deizel: That vort may actually be somewhat true since the first time Purim was established the Megillah says that “Osim ess yom arba’ah ossar lichodesh adar simchah u’mishteh v’yom tov umishloach manos ish lireahu.” Notice that matonos l’evyonim was not included.

This may have been a reason why klal yisroel did not accept “yom tov” so that it would be muttar to give tzedakah on that day as it says afterwards “yimei mishteh v’simchah umishloach manos ish lire’ehu u’matanos l’evyonim.”

The Ramchal in Derech Hashem says clearly that for the rest of the world there is a concept of Hashgachah Klalis but for people Hashem deals with them through Hashgachah Pratis.

Is it true that the three matzos correspond to the Avos? If it is what is the connection?

As Derech mentioned earlier the pasuk says that the kohanim were taken in place of the “peter rechem”s. This fits with Rashi who says that Eisav was created second but came out first.

We see that Yacov had to buy the bechorah since eventhough he was created first the bechorah goes to whomever came out first.- peter rechem

However regarding the makas bechoros there is a chazal that explains why Hashem Himself had to kill the bechorim and not through a malach, because only Hashem can distinguish between a drop that produced a bechor and one that didn’t. This means that the bechorim that died in Makas bechoros were the fistborn to their father.

There are two reasons given for the taanis bechorim. I think that the Nafkah minah would be a C section. If we learn that they fast b/c of being spared in the Makah then all that matters is whether you are a first born to your father, however if it is for losing the avodah it would only apply to a peter rechem- one who opened his mother’s womb.

It seems that the Taz holds that the idea “mikadesh yisroel vihazmanim” allows us to create the kedushah of yom tov on erev yom tov. I don’t know if the Taz would hold the same thing regarding shabbos.

The Rambam in ????? ? ? does not count marrying two sisters as one of the arayos that a ben noach is assur to marry.

According to the tzad that the avos had the dinn of jews, it does seem that Yaacov’s marriage to Rochel was achos ishto, which I think would make Yosef a mamzer. (this may help to understand why his brothers didn’t respect him)

I heard that a reason why Hashem gave Nashim this characteristic of daton kalos was so that they would be able to accept having more children and not reject the idea because of the memory of their first birth.

It could be for maror that the lashon “asher kidishanu ..al achilas maror” is thanking hashem for the original mitzvah of maror that was the makor for the takanah which we have today.

This could also be a reason for the lashon “al achilas” and not “lechol maror” since we are not actually now doing the mitzva.

I was very bothered when I saw a tshuvah from R Shrirah Gaon saying not to follow the medicinal remedies from Chazal unless you have first researched them since Chazal were not doctors.

Later though, I saw the Ramchal in his psichah l’agodos chazal that says that Chazal would often give over a secret through a mashal. For the purpose of the mashal Chazal often used a scientific or medicinal idea that was accepted in there time. However since it was only a mashal the truth of the statement did not matter to them. ?? ???? ??? ????

I was wondering if every rvi’is is another mitzvah of simchas yom tov?

The mechaber says that to make your wife happy on yom tov you should buy her clothing according to your ability [financial position]. This means the more the better (as long as you dont over do it “according to your ability”)

The Rashbam compares this seudah to Chana bringing Shmuel to the beis hamikdash when he was weaned. It seems that the method for an akeress to thank Hashem when she finally has a child is by making a seudah when the baby is weaned.
