Jayson Werth slammed two homers and drove in four runs while Pedro Feliz and Shane Victorino also connected as the Phillies became the first team to reach back-to-back World Series since the New York Yankees eight years ago.

Andre Ethier, James Loney and Orlando Hudson also homered for the Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park as the teams combined to tie the record of seven home runs in a post-season match.

Right-fielder Werth had headed into the game with only one hit in 14 at-bats, but added three more hits to complete the NLCS with three home runs and six RBI.

It helped Philadelphia become the first team since the Atlanta Braves in 1995-96 to claim two consecutive NL pennants.

The Phillies will begin their bid for a third World Series crown next Wednesday at New York or Los Angeles.

The Yankees lead the Angels 3-1 in the American League Championship Series, which resumes on Thursday night at Angel Stadium. (Telegraph)

I for one am not ignoring the drinking problem…

    Kidding.

In all seriousness, it is a very serious issue which needs to be addressed and re-addressed again & again until it’s dealt with.

    Truly an outrage!!

Here is more from another news website:

At 7:05 p.m. a call went out for a pedestrian struck while riding his bike on 7th and Clifton.

Hatzolah members rushed to the scene to treat the patient. Unit 31 was one of the first responders at the scene.

Upon exiting his car to rush and treat the patient Officer Wilson (badge 289) demanded that he move his car so as not to block the intersection.

Despite the unfolding emergency the member went back to his car and backed up as per the request of the officer.

Hatzolah members at the scene were truly shocked at the occurrence. While a similar incident has occurred in the past Hatzolah and the L.P.D. have a very good amicable working relationship.

Neither Police officials nor officials at the Lakewood Hatzolah were available for comment.

The patient was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.’

I am getting the feeling that this “big event” concert ain’t gonna be no big event, but rather a big flop.

The ads started saying that 50% of the concert was already sold out (like 3 weeks ago)….

I was listening to the Nachum Segal show the other night, and they were live in some store in Borough Park. Shea Mendlowitz and Lipa were making it sound like people better run as fast as they can to grab the last 2 tickets available in the store….

Then Lipa was on Zev Brenner saying how its almost sold out and people better run like sin to the store to get their tickets because its nearly sold out….

Now I saw on a website that they are giving out 400 free tickets to boys who learn mishnayos and get tested by their rebbi…..

Which boy can learn mishnayos in 2 days is beyond me….which rebbi will sign this paper to send their student to this concert is beyond me….

But putting that all aside for a moment.

It seems veeeeery strange that a show that is “almost sold out” is suddenly giving out four hundred, yes, four hundred free tickets to a concert a week before the show.

I would understand if they gave 50 tickets out for free, but four hundred!?

    I hope I am wrong here, but I smell a blow-out and not a sell-out.

It’s a week to purim, and there is no way I would even think of going to a concert where tickets cost $50 (the cheapest seats) now. Purum and Pesach will cost me thousands of dollars, and time is tight (not to mention the money). If I would go it would cost me $400 in tickets for the family.

Hope I am wrong, but this don’t smell too rosy.
