It is a matter of truth. We must recognize both sides of the truth, and we must act accordingly.

The Nazis and their accomplices exposed humanity to the most brutal and psychopathic facet of the human being. This truth would have been lost upon the world if the Jews had been punished through earthquakes, floods, fires, or plagues.

    It has to be exposed.

The Holocaust was as much a mark on the perpetrators as it was a punishment upon the transgressors. Today, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Nazi criminals look back upon their ancesters with shame and disgust. And so many others recognize that no human being can retain any self worth or dignity when he sits passively while evil is done to another.

The Holocaust illuminated the Jew as the weak and feeble bearer of the enormous torch intended to light the world,

and his enemy as the one endowed with the raw power and violence intent on crushing the torch, extinguishing it into the ashes of its faithful carrier.

It’s simple. We try. They try.

We try to do what is right, and we stumble.

They try to trip us, crush us, destroy us, and they succeed.

Can you tell me that we hate them any more for tripping us,

than we reproach ourselves for being tripped?

These are a synthhetic derivative of cathinone whis is indeed a natural substance that comes from the African plant called “khat”, but cathinone itself is a Schedule I controlled substance so the “legality” of what you bought is questionable. More of an issue is that if you crush the pills into powder (or open the gellcap if in granuals) and snort/inhale it you will get high like from extasy or LSD – that is why they are so expensive. And worst of all, it is addictive and can end you up in the emergency room or worse chas v’shalom.

I was at a Bar Mitzva where the boy threw up all over the ST during laining. THAT was insane.

So why aren’t ear lobe piercings considered Prust? Who decides that one ornament embedded in flesh is just jewelry and another is overtly sensual? And is the nose really more attractive than the ear?

You’d be surprised how often a psychiatrist can uncover the need for medication for either one of you. Therapy only goes so far, but when a personality disorder is involved, meds can save your life and marriage. And since it’s medical, insurance usually covers the costs.

The loss of life and destruction is truly heart breaking, and I share your emotions. But at the core, isn’t the real source of this tragedy in geology, gravity, and anatomy? Aren’t we really asking why the Almighty didn’t violate the laws of physics and nature for the sake of innocent people? And by the same token, how can we say that there was a “reason” or “message”, implying that physical laws were violated in order to make a statement? And isn’t it true that if we could have observed all the molecular interactions that led up to the quake, we could have predicted it and evacuated? Ultimately, observable deviations from nature, whether constructive (preventing destruction and death) or destructive (smoking the bad guys with fire and brimstone from the heavens), are so very rare because they are the antithesis of free choice – what would an atheist say if there were no casualties or damage from a 7.0 quake? I for one find comfort in the fact that we grieve – it means we care – it means we value the inherent beauty of life and of humanity for which there are no real explanations to be found in physics and chemistry. We accept the real miracles of life, and suffer the consequence of the physical operations that facilitate them.
